|Important Microsoft Update, Last Chance to Vote! |
The 2014 New Year is in full swing, and we have some exciting news and opportunities for you this month.
Many of our customers still use Windows XP or Office 2003 programs and Microsoft recently announced it will no longer support them. So it might be time to start shopping for a new computer.
For a New Year's present to yourself, why not have your email on EVERY device you own (laptop, desktop, phone, ereader, tablet, etc) organized once and for all. Learn how – it's easy.
Plus, for all of our friends, please don't forget to Vote for We Care Computers in the Best of Hartford 2014 Contest. Thanks in advance and details enclosed.
Please vote by the deadline, Feb. 5, 2014 (one minute before midnight).
Windows XP, Office 2003, & Exchange 2003 NO LONGER SUPPORTED!
Support for the Windows XP operating system, all of the programs in Office 2003 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), and Exchange 2003 will be discontinued as of April 8, 2014.
You will no longer receive automatic updates, and security upgrades will be discontinued.
If you use Windows XP, Office 2003, or Exchange 2003 – your computer could be at increased risk of being hacked.
If your machine currently has these programs, you can either update to new versions of the software OR (probably a better option) begin shopping for a new computer, laptop, or tablet that uses Windows 8 and a later version of Office and Exchange.
Since XP and the 2003 versions of the programs were released more than a decade ago – most machines running them are probably in need of an update as well.
Call We Care Computers if you need help in choosing a new system and take advantage of our group pricing on Microsoft programs.
New Year's Resolution – "SYNCH" YOUR EMAIL
If you have your email on multiple devices (phone, computer, laptop, ereader, etc.) do you know that it is possible to "SYNCH" your email across all devices for one low monthly fee? As low as $ 10 per month?
If you delete an email on one device, it is deleted on all devices. So every device receives all your mail, but only shows the emails you want to keep. It's the easiest way to keep track of email when you're switching from phone to laptop, or laptop to desktop.
The service is available from We Care Computers, and is provided via Microsoft Exchange. We can help you set it up, make sure it's running smoothly, and we'll be here if you have any problems.
We switched all of our email accounts to Exchange several years ago and could not be happier. Of all of the options available for managing email – this one is tops!
