Interview with Avi - YouTube

As we start the New Year - perhaps one of those New Year's resolutions is a new computer, or some maintenance, or syncing your phone with your computer!  If you're thinking about a new system, please read our story on Windows 7 before you get a new one!

For all those who've been holding your breath waiting for me to actually do an interview on YouTube - you can now relax.  My good friend Jean of JP Design Theory called and did an interview.  Check it out.

Go Giants.  Go Patriots.  How about overtime?

Cheers!

Windows 7Did Windows 7 Finally Get It Right?

Your computer is run by a "master program" called an operating system, and in recent years we've seen Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.

While most people couldn't care less about which operating system they use (as long as it works right), having the right one is extremely important to making sure things run smoothly all the time.

We Care Computers liked and recommended Windows XP - and still does.  We went out of our way NOT TO RECOMMEND Windows Vista when it came out, because we thought it was terrible.  Unfortunately for the people who bought it, we were right.

Now it's Windows 7 and folks are asking:  " Did Windows get it right or is this just another Vista fiasco"?

We've tested W-7 enough (and installed it on many machines) and are happy to report Windows 7 works fine.  It's the best upgrade to the basic Windows operating system we've ever seen.

So if you're using Vista - please upgrade and get rid of that clunker.

If you're using XP, you have a few more things to think about:

  • It is not an automatic (just throw in a disc) upgrade.  You have to backup your system, do what's called a clean install, and then manually replace your files and software.
  • Most folks will wait till they're in the market for a new machine - and that's fine - particularly if you're happy with XP and your current computer.
  • Windows XP has had a great run - but the future is definitely Windows 7!
  • One of the most popular free email programs of all time, Outlook Express, will not run on Windows 7.  It has been replaced by Windows Live Mail, but we're not sure that's the best way to go.  Since so many people are using their phones for email as well as their computer, Microsoft Exchange and Outlook seem to be the best way to go.

Every day, We Care Computers helps people determine if Windows 7 is right for their next computer purchase, and how to make sure all their programs and files will work.   All at competitive prices with super fast delivery times.

If you're thinking of new computers, think Windows 7, and think We Care Computers will get it right for you!
